Okay, I'm ready to contribute. How do I submit my work?
You've embraced the concept of Eclecticism, or you just want to get your work out there to a virtual world of criticising minds. For ease of printing, Eclecticism will be presented in A4 size, but, keeping with its name, will feature a mix of landscape and portrait layouts. So, unless otherwise stated, Eclecticism is looking for:
- Short Fiction (incl. Flash Fiction) - max. length: 5,000 words
- Novelettes - max. length: 15,000 words
- Poetry - convince us length is warranted
- Artwork (Illustrations, Paintings, Photography, etc)
- And Eclecticism is always looking for very short fillers in prose and poetry, as well as comic strips.
We want you to know something though. We are trying to get your work out there and represent a growing amount of emerging writers and artists BUT we do not publish anything and everything. Your work must be polished. If it is not, you will get a nice but disheartening rejection. Don't forget, your potential future fan base may see your work here - you don't want to give them a sub-par effort and lose them straight away.
(*** And please, it must also be stated that we may reject your work because it simply doesn't fit the 'feel' of the issue ***)
I am open to simultaneous submissions (max.3), but in most cases only one of your works will be used per issue.
For further guidelines consult your relevant area:
Email your work to THE EDITOR at:
eclecticism [at] westnet [dot] com [dot] au
We are not even going to promise a turn-around time for responses until several issues are under our belt - but we will try to keep times under 6 weeks - if you have not received a reply by then, you may query via email.
Good luck!
